Founded in 2015, Battery Resourcers, LLC is committed to changing the dynamics for processing end of life lithium ion batteries. Currently most lithium ion batteries are landfilled. If they are recycled only the metal value from the batteries is recovered. Battery Resourcers proprietary process allows one to directly synthesize new cathode materials from spent lithium ion cells. Thus Battery Resourcers will be able to deliver low cost cathode materials to the lithium ion battery market enabling green technologies and resulting in less landfilled material a more sustainable pathway forward.

May. 19th, 2016: Battery Resourcers, LLC is a finalist in the MassChallenge 2016 accelerator competition. Battery Resourcers will compete with 128 other startups for $1.5M in cash. Additionally, Battery Resourcers will benefit from mentorship, a vast network of experienced entrepreneurs and corporate partners by participating in the accelerator.
Feb. 17th, 2016: Professor Wang's group at WPI was awarded a $1 Million USABC project to make new PHEV cells from spent EV/PHEV cells. Read more about it here:
