March 11, 2020 - As Battery Resourcers (BR) positions for robust growth of its pioneering battery recycling cathode production process, we are pleased to announce significant additions to the leadership team.
Michael O’Kronley was appointed CEO in March 2020, having previously served as a member of the BR Board of Directors since 2017. In this role he will provide overall leadership and oversee the growth of the company. He will also continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Michael was previously the Head of Corporate Strategy at A123 Systems. Prior to A123 he has held various management, business development, operations and engineering roles at both Metaldyne Corp. and Robert Bosch. Michael has earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS Engineering Management from the University of Michigan.
Eric Gratz, co-founder, having served as CEO since 2016, has transitioned to CTO, where he will be responsible for guiding the continued development of BR’s efficient battery recycling processes and formulation of world class cathode materials. He will lead all R&D activities to maintain BR’s technological leadership position. Eric has co-developed the intellectual property behind BR. He has earned his PhD in Extractive Metallurgy from Boston University.
Andrew Aberdale joined the company in March 2020 as CFO. He was previously CFO of Target Hospitality (NASDAQ: TH) where he helped grow the company from $3M to over $350M in revenue and eventually guided the company to an IPO in March 2019 for $1.4 billion. Prior to TH, Andrew was in private consulting focused on financial and operational turnarounds. Andrew had also spent 12 years at W.R. Grace in various engineering, manufacturing and plant management roles. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a MBA from St. Mary’s College of California. Andrew also serves as the Co-Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Daniel Russell has joined the team as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) where he will oversee the operational growth and buildout of all BR operations. Daniel has more than 30 years of experience transitioning new technologies to commercial scale operations. Prior to joining BR he was VP of Operations at 24M Technologies. Prior to that he was the SVP of Manufacturing and Operations at Pixelligent Technologies, the world's leading manufacturer of high refractive index materials, as well as VP of International Operations at Evergreen Solar, an integrated manufacturer of solar wafers, cells, and panels. While at Evergreen Solar he led worldwide expansion efforts establishing and optimizing production capacity on three continents at a total investment of nearly $750M. Daniel holds a BS in Ceramics Engineering from Alfred University as well as a MS in Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
